I met Johnny Walsh at the 2019 Staten Island Zine Fest in New York City – the mind behind ‘Infocult’, a #zine about strange information.

He was an incredibly fascinating person to talk to and he was very generous with his time.

Wherever he is these days, I hope he’s well and safe.

In 2013, Chilean zinester Natalia Matzner (aka Ratalia Espigadora) rode her bike and mobile zine library / book library across Chile.

She held workshops and exhibitions as she went, using her Biblioteca Nómade (Nomad Library) to engage local communities in zine-making & self-publishing... #ZineHero

In 2016, I visited Tokyo and attended the Zinester Afternoon zine club in early July... 🇯🇵

It was an informal, monthly gathering organised by local zinester @momononaka.bsky.social at Cafe Lavanderia in Shinjuku.

I highly recommend following Momo on here – she's at the heart of Japan's zine scene ✂️

Issue 8 of seminal British music #zine 'Sniffin' Glue' from March, 1977.

This copy was being held hostage at Marc Jacobs' bookshop in New York City back in 2014 (on sale for $250 despite its original 30 pence price).

She very kindly invited me to visit her at the amazing Barnard Zine Library and even showed me the archives, before taking me to ABC No Rio Zine Library.

She's an awesome, generous, kind and lovely person who I'm proud to call a friend.
