Other developments for our new tournament format… 🆕

- Team seedings for the knockouts
- Visual bracket in lobby page
- Banners for winners/eliminated users

We’re working hard to build the best possible fantasy soccer platform.

We developed a system for users to release eliminated players! ✅

This means users still in the tournament can get budget back to replenish their squad with new signings.

We shifted to 5-a-side teams for the knockout rounds! 5️⃣

This helps account for the dwindling database of available players as teams are knocked out.

Users still select an 11-a-side team for the First Stage.

Our new format for the CWC incorporated knockout rounds! 🥊

We created a First Stage of four gameweeks from which the top eight tables in the table qualified for the quarter-finals.

First Stage > QF > SF > F

The CWC was a weird tournament, but it gave us such a useful testing environment for @fantasyutd.bsky.social ahead of the World Cup.

Fantasy games always struggle to handle knockout tournaments. We’re trying to come up with a format that does a better job of that and I think we’re close.

𝗔𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗮𝗴𝗲 𝗝𝗼𝗲 - To allow for an uneven number of entrants in leagues, we developed Average Joe!

This is a manager-less team that takes its score as an average of the other teams in your league.

We have yet to develop the UI for this, but it’s functioning in Phase 2.

𝗧𝘂𝘁𝗼𝗿𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝘀𝗹𝗶𝗱𝗲𝘀 - We added tutorial slides to certain sections of the app to help new users play.

We’ll continue to add to these. The Rules & Info page also needs improvement.
