I also feel it didn’t fit the vibe of this era of Doctor Who. This episode belonged to 9, 12, or even 7. With the fairy tale mood of recent episodes it was a harsh whiplash. Maybe I’m just getting grumpy with age 😅

It felt very out of character for Kate to act the way she did and closer to how Torchwood would have handled it. The Doctor’s monologue at the end was ham fisted. I felt like I stumbled in an afterschool special. Right wing grifters can rot for all I care, but he didn’t feel like a real person.

It was probably the vilest episode yet. And I say that in the best possible way. I was so wrapped up in the story I was completely blindsided by the reveal.

Any advice on how to get into it? I tried a while back but bounced off hard partway through the first episode. It influenced so much of other media I like, I always figured I should go back.
