Exactly its in its nature to hide in plain sight
Actually the first character you see is its human form, they got cursed in a dungeon and now its their mission to break that curse and finally return to their real much cooler monster form
(as transition of me becoming a permanent pc in the campaign)

Its a homebrew lv10 moster with a limited amount of proficiencies which it is very good at like perception, stealth and survival
It has attacks but very rarely uses them as the campaign mostly focuses on story and exploring and my mimic doesnt see the point in fighting most of the time

Its my player character actually :) i was asked to make a monster for a oneshot and it evolved into a bigger adventure
It grappled onto one of the players and adventures along with them now
I made a monster statblock too
