Why do we only ask for $1 to see our videos early? Because it’s better than an ad. Plus you’ll get exclusive access to outtakes and bloopers, including the entire back catalog when you join today. You’ll also get to nominate a game for us to play early next month on youtube.com/famicomdojolive

We’re sure you recall in years past you’d have to choose your console version and stick with it, but Pokemon Legends: Z-A and now Metroid Prime 4 being released for both consoles AFTER the Switch 2 launch is a great sign; either game could have easily been exclusive.

We love it! Not sure if the idea to upgrade existing games came first or if games released near the boundary were the cause, but the fact they came up with the Upgrade Pack idea at all is very consumer friendly, and (as you indicated) somewhat unlike Nintendo.

If you’re ever not sure, you can check the blurb on the bottom of the Switch 2 Edition game case to be sure, or get more details at support.nintendo.com/switch2/upgradepack

All Switch 2 Edition carts work in the original Switch; it contains the Switch game as well as the Upgrade Pack. It’s kind of like a black Game Boy Color cartridge that can work on the OG Game Boy!

There’s a blurb on the bottom of the very ugly case art of all compatible games:

Go physical with Metroid Prime 4; the cart will work in a Switch. It’s only $10 more, and you’ve future-proofed yourself.
