Can I get some romance writer recommendations? I like Alexis Hall, Ashley Herring Blake & Mhairi McFarlane. Didn’t click with Ali Hazelwood or Emily Henry. I haven’t read a romantasy that I enjoyed but I’m open to it if there’s something good out there. I don’t like regency.

Whew, my muscles are incredibly sore today. Not sure if it's the covid booster or the workout I did yesterday, the first one in several weeks. Could be both! Probably both. Anyway, bleh. :P

I've been struggling with jetlag, waking up at insanely early hours, finally caved & took some melatonin and slept until 10:30 this morning. 😐 That was ... not ideal for a Monday.

Finally beat Cronos! Only took me 50+ runs and 62% god mode hahah (not good at games)! Also beat the big bad at the top of Mount Olympus on my first attempt! That fight was surprisingly easy considering my trouble with another Titan enemy (no spoilers), who took half a dozen attempts.

I have eaten more bread the past 2 weeks in Japan than I have all year. Never thought I’d say this, but I’m pretty sick of bread. :P

ALSO RECENT READING
The Nameless City trilogy, @faitherinhicks.bsky.social
YA fantasy with a heartfelt friendship between the two leads. Funny, thrilling, with art that made me grin ear-to-ear. Gorgeous stuff, highly recommended! With other recent reads I guess I'm a tween girl now, and that's ok

I really appreciate that so far everyone we’ve interacted with in Tokyo has been very understanding of two anxious tourists who don’t know the language. I was pretty anxious about this trip, but it’s been really fun & not as intimidating as I thought it might be.

Why is fruit so crazy expensive in Japan? Do they not grow it here? I wanted to buy an apple for fibre reasons but it would’ve cost $5 for a single apple that was so perfect it looked like it was drawn by the world’s most talented artist.

Very much enjoying riding the trains throughout Tokyo. We’ve managed to navigate the system pretty well (although the stations are HUGE & we have gotten lost in them several times so far haha), and boy it makes Vancouver’s skytrain system look like transit for babies (I still love you skytrain).
