I’ve seen many mixed reviews and I debated posting this, but despite there being some issues with the game (more for some than others), overall I adore Tales of The Shire and it was exactly the cozy hobbit life sim I needed 🌿

・There are so many unique little details, like the bird guides (which I found SUPER helpful) and the option to skip around instead of walking. I love using gardening beds instead of tilling into soil, and the UI and menus are just beautiful.

・The dialogue in this game, especially when compared with ACNH, is delightful. I find myself chuckling regularly at the interactions and the varying personalities of the hobbits. I even love the simplicity of the main goal of the game, to have Bywater become considered an *actual* village.

・In most cozy simulation games I find cooking more of a chore that I only do for the purpose of completion, but in Tales of The Shire, cooking is actually one of my favourite mechanics of the game. It feels rewarding and the hobbit-style shared meals makes it so fun and unique.

・The game does start off slow and it can feel like there isn’t much to do while you are introduced to everything, but as you keep playing you’ll unlock more features and I personally love the slower progression. It feels like I always have something to work towards and unlock.
