I probably agree with all of that, and am also saying that the problem with the people who are upset about the masses not liking Biden's economy is that they are (probably purposefully) misidentifying what people are upset about, or just calling them stupid.

Yeah sure whatever. That's why I said that it's all well and good for experts in context, but always functions as scolding when used as communication from wealthy elites to the upset masses. Hell, you're talking to me like I don't understand it even when I started out agreeing with the stats.

2) I'm lucky to have bought a home several years ago before the spike. If I hadn't, no way I'd be able to buy a house now, and I'm one of the people whose wages went up alongside inflation. It will always be insulting to people who can't afford a home to say that the economy is good, actually.

Two things. 1) That can be true for millions of people and be untrue for other millions of people. This is a big country, and because some of these ideas apply to a lot of people, there can still be millions of people who read it and for whom it simply is not true.

"People are stupid, I was good at it actually" is a hell of a message for people you ostensibly want to vote for you, whether it's true or not.

Please read what you have just written and understand why nobody likes the Democrats or thinks they are trying to help them.

In decent shape, but telling a group of struggling people the economy is good when everything is getting worse while rich people get richer is going to make that person not believe whatever else it is you have to say about the economy.
December 4, 2025 at 2:53 PM
I'm not disagreeing with any of that per se. What I'm saying is that for many, many people (a more significant number than people who make y'all's argument probably believe) prices went up, rent went up, their wages didn't, and no one can afford anything. I'm thrilled for the Americans who are...

I understand that those metrics can be real and useful for experts, but for all of my lifetime they've been used to scold regular folks for being upset about their economic situation. Whatever their scientific validity, it's absurd to be surprised that bludgeoning people with them doesn't work.
December 4, 2025 at 2:32 PM
Those are not the same, but the fact remains that people do not believe that the economy is good because they have eyes and ears. If the well established macroeconomics tell people things that are plainly different than what they see, they're not very different than the lies.

But have you considered that such a car will own the libs

How weird that two presidents' and all of the commentariat's scolding about how the economy is good, actually didn't make people feel good about the bad economy.

And that's what makes the anti-trans sports stuff so clearly bullshit. Everyone on the "actually, there are some valid concerns!" side of things is cheering on this 61-year-old lady no longer getting to hag out with her friends and play tennis.
