The NT has a loop and it was such an improvement on...not having one... when I saw a play there earlier this year. I'll live but it is annoying that they haven't got one.

I'm better off with my hearing aids than an all purpose headset. My hearing aids in theory boost the bits of the spectrum I've lost more than the bits that are better. A loop pipes the performance into your hearing aids and makes it much clearer. And it takes into account where your losses are.

The other costs to raise are a red herring though cos you don't have to pay upfront. It's just a steady drip drip.

And I said specifically I could afford to have had them *if we discounted the NHS and the schools.* And that *feels* like being able to afford them but ... really it isn't. Really I was agreeing with Stephen's point... even people who can afford the rest of it can't clear the NHS/schools hurdle.

It's only really schools and the NHS now though, for many people. And the NHS no longer includes dentistry, in some (many?) parts of the country. I feel Ike I absolutely could afford to have my kids, tbh. But only cos state schools and what's left of the NHS exist.

All the perfume adverts are bad. The whole 'lt's Xmas let's advertise our perfumes now nobody will ever twig that we are aiming the ads at people who can't be arsed to think of a good present' thing is nuts. Everyone knows it's PJs for Xmas. And earrings. (Yes I do still miss Bleak Expectations)

Some jobs are harder in some ways, while being less hard in others. It's easier in some ways to be a woman starting out in my profession than it was when I was starting. And across the board, conditions and expectations are ...better...than once they were. In some ways, not all.

I'm playing a lot of the music I listen to in any given week. And yet Spotify doesn't acknowledge that. This is not the brave new world we imagined we were promised.
