My nostalgia for the movie going experience I had as a kid will never go away. I'll never stop talking about it. We were so lucky to have the summer movie seasons while growing up. Now? Maybe watch 2-3 movies during the summer. The rest is at home or revisiting my blu-ray collection.

Modern day movies are afraid of shadows. Everything is so perfectly lit and clean. Very clinical look. What happened to shadows? What happened to leaving the imperfections. Once Upon a Time in Mexico was shot digitally and it looks beautiful. Also was just a different time of movies.

This is the exact opposite of what theaters need. 🙄
AMC has agreed to run more commercials before films

It includes a 'platinum spot' that runs right before the movie starts

The theater experience can absolutely be saved if theaters gave a shit about enforcing rules and cut their pre-shows and filler ads down. Of course the studios need to give a film a chance at the box office.

Imagine if marvel and DC only releases like 1-2 big movies a year. Studios could start making a variety of movies and give them a 3 month run at the theater. Get people back in theaters.

The movie theater experience peaked in the 90’s/2000’s. Nobody knows how to act in a theater now. People are “shooting content” in a theater. Everyone is using their phones like it’s their living room. We are missing the point. It’s to disconnect and enjoy what’s on the screen for a few hours.

1. Stop running that atrocious Nicole Kidman ad.
2. Turn the lights off during the trailers.
3. Cut down trailer to 3-4.
4. Actually enforce the no cellphone policy for a better experience all around.
AMC will slash prices on Wednesdays by 50% starting in July 🍿

The goal is to get more people into theaters between weekends
