Incredible how Christians in countries where Christianity is a minority religion still think and act morally superior to unbelievers, while contributing nothing positive to the society.

Many of those kids later went on to foreign missions as minors, and didn’t realize that they were used as potential human shields against the police (they were even taught how to respond to the law in case the mission got busted by anti-proselytizing raids).
That church was fucked up, man.

I’ve always had a strong stomach when it comes to horror. Man, I was already reading Junji Ito around that time. But I highly doubt that the other sheltered fundie kids were anything like me. Those poor kids.

The youth pastor/cult leader argued that the spider movie taught an important lesson about not dumping toxic waste into the river, ignoring the fact that Spirited Away also had the same message and was much more appropriate for kids. I guess the scare factor was more important. *shrugs*

Anyway, we kids ranged from age 8-12 were forced to watch the B horror movie about giant mutant spiders eating people on a long bus ride, when we could’ve watched a movie about a girl’s journey to overcome unexpected hardships and become braver and more independent.

We are Asian, so the so-called “Eastern religions” in Spirited Away are actually much closer to our own cultural roots than some foreign religions from the other side of the world like Christianity. Christian colonialism produces Asians who hate and fear their own cultural background. Lmao.
