When your SaaS costumer base is in the same time region as you, holidays/weekends and nights don't interfere with each other.
Assume a system is worse off under load. The most load will only occur when you have most engineering capabilities.
Automation at costumer level like scripting can counter.

Database Migrations, where to put them?

- Seperate deployable item
- migrate on startup
- migrate on request

bonus point if your multi tenant architecture has a single database for each tenant...

When is it ok to use newer language features?
Is using new dotnet syntax sugar poisoning old codebases?

My stance currently:
If it is unlikely you have to touch it again quite some time, don't use new features, do not upgrade just the language level without the rest of the sdk.
Otherwise full send.

"AI is just too good"

Me getting into an argument with deepseek because it miscounted

"I earlier gave a slightly shorter one because I mistakenly truncated the last ad7d. Your string is correct."

AI has its uses, but is not bolt on to fix all issues as our one and only saviour.

Talking doesn't do it.
Planning doesn't do it.
Organising doesn't do it.
Creating 10 sub tasks doesn't do it.

You have to commit to make a change!
Push it to the world. Force it if you must.

When designing a public API be aware of the consequences. One does not simply overcome a public API. Forever will your fate be at the mercy of the one chosen public API.

One public API to rule them all, one public API to find them,
One public API to bring them all, and in the darkness bind them;

Perks of having a special character in name:
- seeing funny bugs
- ü is stripped out
- ü is replaced by ? or ü or so called tofu box
- ü breaks sth
Cons of having a special character in name:
- being annoyed by tool not working with
- thinking about using ue instead
who needs utf8 anyway

I wish i could force using rebase instead of merge before a MR is merged, but it would be disabled first thing when somebody has issues with it
Knowing git good enough to do rebase -i always pays off

The recent supply chain attacks make it even more attractive to strip out unnecessary dependencies.
I do not mean no dependencies, but value to risk should be appropriate.
