Maduro needed to be removed, of course. He was a dictator whose loyalists gradually controlled the entire system. They enforced his will by punishing anyone who did not bend to him. The rule of law was replaced by his will and fear.

It's probably flying under your radar because a) it's Canadian-made and b) it's in French and c) it isn't a natural fit for any genre of TV show. But if you can put up with those things, you should watch Empathie. It's really, really well made.

When I hear about “standing on the shoulders of giants” I think of all the tools I have and how some of them are such a joy to use because they are so effective. They are testimony to the cumulative, iterative improvements from anonymous workers over centuries. We are giant.
