I don't use social media (I only put out) so don't expect a lot
The lines are hard, there's no gate weave, no jittering, no grain, no dirt, no shadows, you can even count the pixels in the above image

but cross the Ohio River (into Ohio) and you're immediately in the Midwest, all the mountains slowly vanish and it's just road and farm

Actually if anything, Pittsburgh has and has had a massive influence on wheeling ever since we were making nails using their steel. People say "hoagie" and "I think she needs out" and eat pierogies and "chipped" ham sandwiches. So probably mid atlantic.

The real answer would be... what region do I identify with? hell I don't know. But not the South
December 4, 2025 at 6:26 PM
oh yeah nobody really talks about the massive West North Central South East North Central Mid-Atlantic DE MD river that flows through the middle of the US. it's often left out of geography discussions

and blender is also python so that just makes no damn sense... and there is no way blender has its own keyboard driver running and intercepting my system keyboard. right? that would be ridiculous
December 3, 2025 at 12:10 AM
like if i press numpad 6 in blender it rotates the camera right, if i press right arrow in blender it moves the playhead one frame forward. but my python test scripts report both as some variant of "Key.right" depending on library used.
December 3, 2025 at 12:08 AM
really i was just expecting there to just. Be A Way to intercept the raw keycodes like .... blender can do it???? blender can literally just do it????????? why cant my python script?
December 3, 2025 at 12:07 AM
i would RATHER at this point make something that intercepts raw USB data and feeds it into the computer as something else while also passing through the usb data... but that involves learning how to make devices and buying things and the whole point of this project was frugality and simplicity
December 3, 2025 at 12:06 AM
and the program conflating the numpad inputs with everything else will lead to an incredible inaccurate (like the messed up version of mr incredible who doesnt look quite right) representation of what keys are ACTUALLY pressed
December 3, 2025 at 12:03 AM
and thats incredibly frustrating (like the angry version of mr incredible who jumps up and down on his stress ball) because i press numpad 1 and actual END very different amounts of times, i press normal END way more and only press numpad 1 when switching to front view in blender
December 3, 2025 at 12:02 AM
apparently, having python distinguish between numpad keys and regular arrow keys/home/end/delete/pingas/she/her/whatever is like. impossible. the only way to do it seems to involve basically writing an entire keyboard driver from scratch in python.
