It's ok, we'll manage 😉
Ezgif processes several millions of files per day.

I have them associated with mplayer, it plays them without a browser, but does not loop, a bit annoying indeed.

JPEG XL might be interesting too, but it's not supported even by 1% of browsers, so completely irrelevant right now.

AVIF is also supported by all major browsers, and AVIF files are much (often as much as 10x) smaller than APNG.

IMHO AVIF is by far the best modern alternative to GIF. WebP is second. APNG is pretty awful format for animations, the files are huge, and encoding slow.

TBH I don't fully get JPEG XL appeal. AVIFs are smaller and faster and already supported by all major browsers.

The lossless JPEG trans-coding idea is interesting, but 20% gain to me seems like not that much for having to move to a different format with much less support and slower decoding speed.

The delay in a GIF is stored in hundredths of a second. You can't get exactly 15 fps, because you can't divide 100 by 15 into whole numbers evenly. The closest options are:

Delay 6 = 100 / 6 ≈ 16.66 fps
Delay 7 = 100 / 7 ≈ 14.28 fps

Not sure if you needed this information, but here it is anyway 😸

He should go take a selfie there.

Cool, but what about the Epstein files?

Hi! Author of ezgif here. What kind of files are you trying to convert? Can you give me an example file?
December 14, 2025 at 8:26 PM
You set it up once and forget about it, what's there to manage?

He is saying that the pace of offensive operations conducted by the armed forces, volunteers, and veterans is not decreasing but is, in fact, increasing.

Yeah, cropping a video is a bit tricky operation, and ffmpeg sometimes fails with various errors, so I have a fallback method - if cropping the original file fails, it converts it to mp4 and tries again. So it sometimes may output mp4 file even when input is in different format.

Please don't!

Hi! Author of ezgif here :)

The video cut tool hasn't had any changes in functionality for several years. I did update the video player in September, but I don't see how that could have affected the precision.

Maybe you could send me a file where you're experiencing issues with cutting?

It’s not uncommon when translating idioms and other figurative expressions to find that a slightly different phrase works better than a direct translation.

бублик = bagel, so in completely literal sense I guess bagel is a more direct translation, but since donuts seem more popular food in the west and more often referenced in pop culture, I guess "a hole from a donut" works better in English.

Doesn't really make sense to me. If you're hosting VPS at Hetzner, why do you keep the DB elsewhere?

LOL pressing a button like a neanderthal.
In 2025 AI should do it automatically.
