Not only did they completely remove the fact that Hogwarts uses elf slavery for school meals, but they also removed the general meanness from the characters too.
Like there's a tribalistic attitude where it's fine to call bad characters fat, but also bad when the bad guys call the good guys fat.

I genuinely believe the movie adaptations have tricked an entire generation of people that the Harry Potter books were good. There's so much shit they changed from the books in the movies because even filmmakers realized Rowling was up her own ass.
