Yeah, and it's not like you can't make an argument for better candidates or reform in the system or any of it. But you still have to deal with the reality before you, even as you make those arguments. I make them too, but I would never throw away my vote.

It's one of those weirdly absurd accounts you seem to find only on Bluesky, I've noticed.

Even then, if elected, what you wanna do is likely not what you're gonna do.

Realpolitik.

Correct.

"Lesser evil" is just a way of encapsulating one candidate being better than another.

Most voters aren't rational and politics is highly emotional and tribal. I'd rather vote for a slate of policy positions rather than a person, but we don't live in that universe, unfortunately.

Correct.

The people that often make "lesser evil" arguments aren't the ones out here voting in spite or "protest" either.

As a Transhumanist, I've long argued that things like this could be used as a therapeutic tool, not to mention pave the way in raising social awareness of the finality of death, which could lead to things like mind uploading.

Many people believe that death is something sacred; I want to defeat it.

Probably because Biden was a traditional president who didn't overly politicize legal matters. It wasn't the president's purview. The president does not command the DOJ.

Why do people say this? As if the "bad" is concentrated in one area.
Democrat vs Republican
This comparison examines the differences between the policies and political positions of the Democratic and Republican parties on major issues such as taxes, the role of government, entitlements (Soci...

We have to deal with the reality on the ground. You don't really have much choice. It's fine not to overly support any party, but to just say "everything bad" without a qualifier is just as bad.

I'll always support better options where they show up.

On the merits; Obama/Biden > Trump.

Yes, in service of the empire, US presidents have ordered and presided over terrible things. Same as it ever was.

However...

Can you agree some were better than others? I'd take Obama and Biden anyway over Trump and the white nationalists who rode his coattails right into the White House!

You mean every president ever? LOL. 👍🏾
