Money market funds. Shares are dollars, it holds a mix of low risk assets like treasury bonds and “commercial paper”, which are high quality corporate debt. in 2008 the regulators didn’t let any of them fail. (The closest one got was still 97 cents on the dollar but the US Treasury stepped in).
