There are vtubers like Debidebi Debiru that put on a character performance 100% of the time but the majority from what I've watched don't. They're mostly just like any other streamer except with an anime face instead of their real one. Not unlike you or me and so many here that use anime pfps

I wonder about that because Super Sonico at least predates Ion. Besides, I wouldn't call Ion a vtuber at all as no matter how visionary I agree Tsuchiya was with the real world integrating elements of the series, Ion is still a fictional character. Vtubers, on the other hand are real human people.
