If I learned anything from the Scorsese documentary is casting gets you funding. De Niro as RN. Leo as Haldeman. 😉

Rewatched for maybe the 100th time. The McClurg scene is a banger and of course Candy breaks your heart. But, if you focus on Martin, it's one of the more selfless and generous performances by a movie star - ever. His role is to be annoyed and angry. He allows others to shine and reacts brilliantly.

I'm obviously all for helping farmers in need, but this is like shooting yourself in the foot, going to the ER and expecting free medical care. Self inflicted. I suppose this means Republicans really don't care about budget deficits.

Media is so fragmented. In the old days all you had to do was appear for a segment or two on the Tonight Show with Johnny Carson. Now you are forced to cook with Times. 😕

There is a naval captain of a ballistic missile sub sitting quiet somewhere in the Barents Seas right now with 150 or so Tomahawk cruise missiles aboard the vessel. That captain has tactical control of enough firepower to wipe out a continent.

There was a documentary years back on Buckley and Gore Vidal. There's was one of the first series of point-counterpoint/conservative-liberal debates on TV. A couple of dandy patricians who had more in common with one another then a single American.

Sir, I know Hegseth has a tight inner circle of family and sycophants, but my god. As a matter of course wouldn’t SECDEF interact with multiple naval officers on a daily basis? Heaven help us if that’s true.

I sat next to Carville on a long flight once. He was personable, kind to the flight attendants and a really great person to chat with for four + hours. He is a good guy who really loves being a celebrity pundit. He traded the grind for fame. Like a retired NFL player who doesn't want to hit anyone.

Don't forget he also is the acting NASA administrator. Two pretty big and important jobs.

When the ACA was enacted there were kiosks in malls and shopping centers. The providers were given incentives for successful sign-ups. The marketing has been neutered ever since. It is a program that essentially exists with no promotion. So, Rand wants to go back to the success that they squashed?

"A pair of jeans and a decent shirt?" These people are so out-of-touch it's hilarious.

Sir, just wait till people’s health care premiums double or by some estimates triple in the run up to the midterms. Partisanship aside, this is worst practice of politics in eons.

It’s the secrets—truths only the other could possibly know or deduct. They keep scheming, always aware the other is clever enough to uncover every hidden move.

His brilliance as Dennis Duffy the beeper salesman and Liz’s on and off again boyfriend on 30 Rock cannot be understated

That’s certainly possible. The combined KB running time would have been like 4:20. Obviously editing could have shortened the combo a bit. I’ve never seen Wicked on stage or on a screen, but it couldn’t possibly have the grandeur and depth of KB. Wicked the play has a 2:30 running time.

Kill Bill: Volume 2 didn’t receive a single nomination in any category for precisely this reason. Judging by that year’s nominations - under normal circumstances - it would have deserved at least a few. I think QT split the films for artistic reasons. Wicked being split was pure marketing.

The thing that struck me Lizza is so deluded as to think the other men in this tale are somehow different than him. That he is pure and the aggrieved.

When the suit and haircut from South Dakota that poses as Senate Majority Leader grows a pair and brings along four of his asshole buddies it's over. How soon will that happen? Your guess is as good as mine.

Under normal circumstances you'd be correct. To paraphrase the noted philosopher Virgil Sollozzo. ...All of those politicians that you carry around in your pocket, like so many nickels and dimes. For the time being he has complete control of the FBI/Justice and he has enough of congress.
