This is clearly why there hasn’t really been any articulated political goal from the Venezuela pressure. There’s at different fiefdoms within the administration that are pushing for an invasion for different reasons, and Trump is parroting whoever he hears from last.

My FIL is a naval procurement officer. It is difficult to get his attention in meetings because he is lost in requirements traces. We were on a FFG-7 together years ago and I asked him what it would cost to build it today. I will never forget his answer… 'We can’t, we don’t know how to do it.'"

NAACP has specifically sued over this re-districting. Pre-existing lawsuits have been updated to include the 2025 effort. The DoJ just isn't suing for reasons that should be obvious.

There are multiple lawsuits challenging the Texas redistricting. Some of them have been ongoing for years.

Like everyone talking about these layoffs needs to look at the trend in US science missions (fewer rovers), to go read the report on why Psyche missed its first launch window, then speculate why JPL isn’t getting more missions assigned.

I don’t think JPL is contributing to any of the moon activities, and if they were I’m pretty sure they’d end up delaying it more.

That reporting about changing words is so real. Was editing a document the other day and someone suggested removing the word “diversity” because of politics…and we had to go point to multiple examples in current doctrine that “diversity” was the appropriate term.
