Quite a harvest of amazing content & ingenuity of design—this day gig librarian (spare-time zinester) has many thoughts re: cataloguing them (faves, at least) in some way, but…how best? Purpose?

And storing/displaying them…what way would be coolest or best?

What do people do with all their zines?

Librarians are SO open source. Always giving free access to knowledge and entertainment, and always freely sharing any knowledge they have, usually in entertaining ways.

Yes:
“It’s no accident that people who become librarians tend to have restless, questioning minds. They’ll follow a rabbit hole just to see where it goes. They’ll read five articles so a teacher doesn’t have to read fifteen. They share knowledge freely, not competitively.”

If further confirmation/corroboration could possibly be needed/wanted I can attest to the same phenomenon: multiple copies of each of most of the series, plus the 4-in-1s, and their shelf is depleted as fast as it replenishes in the check in/out cycle day to day.

The graphic design style meets cartooning elements vibes could lead to some good #HatTrickLit pairings:

Any Owen Davey stuff for graphics/facts blend; Elise Gravel’s bug works for that cartooning insect edge; see also Du Iz Tak for a perfect reading pairing.

I have a rolling cart full of various funky junk all stacked in bins. Works best as a team-teaching block, one hour session, for pre-loading/inspo/mentor text reading, rapid planning, ton of creating time, sharing time—then T takes photos of kids w/ scenes for further writing etc in class later.

PM #StoryStudio w/ K class: using #LooseParts to build any story they wished, perhaps inspired by our outdoor learning field trips into nature, but open to anything…extremely well-focussed, totally engaged, great at being both storytellers/listeners, fantastic at clean-up.
