How sweet 😻 We would argue that these paw prints have evidentiary value, so are worth preserving! Do you know whether the prints belonged to a former library cat, or do the prints date from when the library was the fisheries laboratory? (A cat looking for fish?!)

These 27 strips of tape were removed this morning from a newly accessioned photograph album in the University Archive. Residue stains from the tape have been left on the identification sheets, but the album itself fortunately remains in good condition!

Through lists, accounts & correspondence, the archive can reveal the names, ages, health conditions & relatives of the enslaved people over decades. These details can be pieced together to discover the stories of individual people, & we can begin to break the silence.
