There's a wonderfully snobby old car racing saying - the right crowd and no crowding. It neatly sums up here too. I dread to think what The Other Place's like now.

Another thumbs up for Marylebone High Street / Chiltern Street. The Golden Hind is one of the few decent fish and chips in London, or if you fancy steak and chips, try Le Renais De Venise - all they do is steak and chips. Be warned though - you might have to queue.
