If it counts I still go to bat for Sins of Sinister

I've been calling around for weeks and cannot find anyone in TN willing to actually vaccinate my 2-year-olds for Covid- pediatrician isn't carrying it, health department doesn't have it, drugstores won't do that young. It's making me nuts.

I will say CVS/Walgreens say they'll do over 3's?

The bit with the two guards had me almost falling out of my seat

I don't think you mean it this way but I find it hard to believe that Druckmann is treated worse than King

Bruce Wayne?

It doesn’t feel polarizing in the same way as like a Last Jedi; it feels like most people who really love it are accepting the flaws as part of the package, and those that hate it are letting the flaws overwhelm the rest of the package. (And I’m of course in the Morally Correct Middle)

I feel like I came at it from the opposite axis and still landed where you are; I’m generally into what Gunn’s doing but this felt like he lost control of his usual tone about half the time. Sometimes that worked (interview scene ruled) but I kept feeling exposition papering over shaky confidence.

This really hit home for me in the latest issue when Jimmy Olsen goes on a long monologue about his vasectomy - tough to do Jimmy Olsen Freedom Fighter as a long term status quo, he’s not serious enough to make it feasible and it cuts off his other character routes

Legitimately I think there’s something to people viewing politics as a spectator sport and acting like it’s sports fandom

What are your thoughts on the Contessa and all that 90's jazz?

Not sure how technical/legally flexible you are, but it’s not too hard to set up a Plex server and find some downloads online. I’ve got several shows for my kids set up that way.

I always think of this thread whenever we hit this in my favorite alphabet book

She's in that Outsiders book where it's kinda ruining Planetary but is still pretty fun.

Can’t stop thinking about this insane page from Marvel 1000 and how he’s been trying to lay groundwork here for years(props to @zachrabiroff.bsky.social ‘s piece for remembering it)

Our kids were diagnosed yesterday, the recommendation from the pediatrician was that they’re no longer contagious when they’ve gone more than 24 hours without a temperature

Also another consequence of the order and shortened season is that they’re really relying on chemistry to sell you on the Ruby/Doctor friendship, because it’s barely been on screen. Shunting her into the B-Plot of Rogue didn’t help

I think it’s pretty clearly affected by Gatwa’s availability issues, but I agree they should’ve swapped Rogue in for ep 2 and maybe popped Chord in between 73 Yards/D&B? Two doctor-lite eps in a row makes it tough to click with Gatwa as The Doctor, he doesn’t have time to shine.

I’ve seen a lot of hate for how much he overwhelms the narrative in the latter half of the era, but I think Gillen et al correctly identified that Hickman’s very abstract villains needed a human face to really cohere.
