azure gleam makes me mad bc part 2 could have done a whole thing with hubert and monica where one or both realise something is wrong and begrudgingly join up with dimitri to save edelgard

as things are, i think it ends up overselling the idea of that ending being the Bad Ending and the other being the Good Ending, which in turn makes any discussion over which ending is 'better' much less interesting

with or without it, i think that ending is still unquestionably the darker and more unsettling of the two – but i can't help but feel it would have somehow been more effective to linger on those last few shots in an eerie silence than to hit you over the head with a Big Scary Sound Effect
