You need to watch this. I only saw it for the first time last year, and I'm still not over it. This was broadcast into UK homes at prime-time during 1974, as a "Play For Today."

Vegetarian lasagna made with a mushroom duxelles instead of the traditional pork mince. Works an absolute treat. Takes a lot of time to prepare, as there's also a mushroom stock involved that itself is quite time-consuming, but well worth the effort.

Re-reading it at the moment for the purposes of a gigantic and extremely enthusiastic "My Life in Horror" article. It was my very first Barker book, and one of THE most important books in my life.

Working on maybe the most important My Life in Horror article I'll ever write, on a purely personal level.

The book that changed everything.

I don't know what anyone in Alien: Earth is worrying about: Just tank Adrian "Eddie" Edmondson up on Special Brew (Toilet Duck if none is available), give him a frying pan or cricket bat and send him in. We already know he's practically indestructible.

Once every so many years, we get these ominous potatoes turning up on the drive of the primary house where I work, and it skeeves me out.

What are they planning?

An episode of Not The Same Log dropping this Saturday whose subject is, to say the least, topical.

It's hard to know what to say about Begotten; a film that features a protracted sequence of God ritually -and graphically- disembowelling himself.

What I'm most proud of regarding the Born in Blood collections is that they represent a throwing off of all shackle and stricture; I will never write like this ever again.

The most "Marmite" of Marmite films. I have yet to meet anyone who has a casual opinion of it.

Fucking hell, though; it's actively annoying that Robert Eggers is that cute.

That, my loves, is the new Lucius The Eternal model: If you look closely, you can see his iconic Lash of Torment and the chemical dispensers on his backpack.

My annual re-reading of my Barker back-catalogue is occurring a little later in the year than usual.

Beginning at the beginning (though, as we know, "Stories have no beginnings."), the first step has to be into The Weave, with the book that rewrote the shape of my mind at the age of 11.

If you were a villain, who would you be?

In reference to Anne Coulter. What can I say other than: Bravo?
