I was unnecessarily enraged too. It's the assumption everyone should share absolutely everything with everyone. Ultimately it's about platforms grabbing as much data as they can, but disappointed to see it on here too! * Shakes fist at modern world *

Danforth and McBride are a magic combo indeed! Was playing The One Ring last night, and while we've moved on from MERP, Thieves of Tharbad still got a shout out. :-)

Needs Moar Kenrick and Milner!

We all know that trad generally means having grognardy things like a GM and rolling dice, whereas indie means democratised shared authority and using magnetic fish. We cleared this all up in the 90s / early 2000s. 😁

It is a lovely looking book that comes with nice cards for powers that you can hand out to the players which probably goes down well with kids who like Pokémon or Yi Gi Whatsit

I have no idea how to evaluate the capability of unknown 9-13yo children 😁

There are some fiddly things to get hold of, but I wouldn't say it's particularly harder than D&D which I picked up at that age.

It plays to the kids idea of "fantasy" being more like Rick and Morty than Lord of the Rings

It's good fun! 13th Age was my previous go-to for D&Dizzle style games, but I think DH may take over as being a big lighter and fluffier. It would have been easy for CR team to dial it on a cash cow, but they have made a solid game full of flavour and funky abilities. It's moderately "crunchy".

I've run it old school BRP, but also a much more preferable Savage Worlds version (and played both).

I keep waiting to see the novels cheap, because I'm not sure where I've put my originals 😂

If it's not Original Series, it's all cosplaying.

Sounds like you're having a nice family trip. Had covid changed "us"? Again, it depends... For me no. I do know some people that don't go out as much though.

Dragonmeet has become more infrequent for me, is it costs a lot, the trains are frequently bad and the gaming is variable at best. I can also buy everything online. So the value proposition isn't there. If I lived closer or some other factors changed, maybe it would be worth it? It depends! 😁 /end

For me the value proposition looks like "Are you taking the proverbial?" because it's a lot of time and money for virtually no return.

So, it depends. If you like comic shopping trips to find weird, rare issues maybe it's good? For gaming cons though, a bit part is joining in as you say. 3/x

I think it was £15 a ticket or something and was basically an NEC hall sparsely populated with stalls and a handful of guests. He basically queued for ages to get a signed (and paid for) photo of the nice lady who plays a Bejoran (sp?) and was delighted with this use of time and money 2/x

Well, it all starts with the organisers providing an Invitation To Treat and ends with punters deciding if they got a value proposition 😁

At one particular Expo there was also a comicon thing happening and one of my friends wanted to go. He took a "day off" expo to go and do that. 1/x

They are quite an unusual push your luck mechanic, but I reckon after you D watched a bit of us rolling dice it'll all make sense pretty quick. 😁

"Judge" for yourself. I see what you did there!
