Critically, you're fully in the driver's seat. You're still responsible for evaluating the ideas, and choosing a course of action - even if it isn't one the chatbot came up with. You're still using your own brain to make good choices.

Nearly all of my prompts lately follow this format: (1) describe the situation in one or two sentences, then (2) follow with "what are some ways I could do <thing>?"

This kind of workload is right up their alley. Chatbots are really good at two things: confidently BS'ing, and making bulleted lists.

But, what about questions where there aren't right and wrong answers?

When there's no clear-cut right or wrong, that's when ChatGPT, Perplexity, etc tend to shine.

Chatbots are bad at questions where there are clear "right" and "wrong" answers, in part because they're bad at questioning themselves. No chatbot I've seen is capable of saying "I don't know," and that's a huge problem.

The hangup for me is that EVs don't fit the current shift in American macroeconomic tides. Fewer young people own houses, and fewer young people will *ever* have their own house. Landlords have no incentive to install chargers, even in apartments where that's remotely feasible.

Regardless, between the scrappers and the cats, we probably had the cleanest alley in Chicago.

We also had a neighbor who fed the alley cats. Or maybe they were her pets, and they were just outdoor cats. Not sure what the dynamic was there.

They also weren't doing anything that hurt anyone else, which is something you can't say for a lot of us doing more "dignified" work.

It's not the safest work, but they made their money. At first, seeing the truck piled high with junk was anxiety-inducing. But, I never saw a single thing fall out of that truck. Those guys were pros.

This entire experience reeks. @altium-official.bsky.social do better.

CircuitMaker then politely presented a link to download their desktop app. Great! I downloaded it. It's an EXE. I'm on Ubuntu. (cont)

Oh, and when it sends you an activation link? Make sure you don't open that in Firefox either. If you do, it'll say your account is activated but when you click on your profile, it goes to a 404 page. (cont)

If you try to sign up from Firefox, the form doesn't show up at all. Just a blank page with some "log in with Google" buttons that instantly redirect to an error page. (cont)
