It coincides with the release of the SAM rapid evidence review report on“Artificial Intelligence in Emergency and Crisis Management”. The European Commission’s DG ECHO requested the report for the Emergency Response Coordination Centre.

It’s encouraging to see these core ideas now being operationalised through tools like RAISE, the AI Observatory, which will monitor AI trends and assess sectoral impacts, and enhanced EU funding. This is an opportunity to highlight how scientific advice can inform policy in a meaningful way.
