Ever grateful to those that speak up & out, & for their solidarity.

Science suppression & self-censorship is rife. I understand why many are reluctant to speak truth to power, it can come with great costs, seen & unseen, with the latter often being the most insidious, upsetting & damaging. #ESA2025

Fab talk from @megcevans.bsky.social about government trying to use capitalism (for profit model) to attempt to solve problems created by capitalism (environmental damage and biodiversity loss).
But $2bn to solve biodiversity crisis isn't much compared to many other publicly funded things.

The motto of #ESA2025 this year is "Biodiversity on the brink – BOLD ACTIONS for a resilient future"

On Thu I'm presenting on a super bold, landscape-scale biodiversity project that will keep 10-25 species from being added to Threatened species list.

Thu 1030!

ARC are considering a restructure in which jobs there will be lost, a source tells me.

This seems ridiculous when they're about to completely overhaul the entire grants system – they've never undertaken anything so large before!

I've long said ARC needs MANY MORE staff, & should do more, not less.
