I mean there's a stark difference between pandering with random celebs and hiring someone charismatic to present the show. The gdc awards have had tim Schafer host, and I vastly prefer his sense of humor and passion for the art form to "hideo kojima's friend gets excited about another trailer"

It's an especially annoying response because they often pose it as a rhetorical gotcha, but they actually have no idea how to answer the question themselves. Like how about before you throw out your humanity, do a little research!

And instead of casting well-liked and and charismatic comedians to host the show, they just have like, a guy who likes movies doing it

Recent 2D indie game called Fountains has really great interconnected world design with no fast travel aside from a very diegetic and barely useful mine cart track. The difficulty is ultimately too punishing imo but it's worth the time investment for the world design alone

It's really great! So smart how any time you upgrade, you're drastically altering 1/6 of your deck, so every choice feels super impactful. Also, the character designs are hilarious

Assuming devolver assesses the financial standings of their partner studios, you'd think they set aside enough money to fund the rest of development, right? So either things got wildly over scoped, or devolver only signed HM for marketing /promo?
