Had ITE one and then a school one at place where I'm VC .. I did the governor dive for that ..

More so. More deep dives and go into school and interview trainees, watch us teach, talk to heads and mentors and employers. How do you know what you've taught them in saying DT has had an impact on their teaching practice.. All about impact .. notoriously hard to measure that one meaningfully.

This is normal. In ITE inspections you sit in on the deliberation... Awkward to hear them debate why you aren't outstanding and not be able to interject..l

A child like that will have had intervention upon intervention since day dot. Maybe they need a bit more castle, a bit more outside, a bit more being read, PE, DT as well rather than yet more phonics.

And personally I'd take what they offer far more seriously if they had to do what everyone else has to and achieved.

No other state school would be allowed. Primary schools with three staff still have to provide full coverage and, until recently, deep dives. Level should mean just that. I don't see why they don't. If they are that good, it would not be hard, would it?

Do the children have access to the full National Curriculum? No they do not. Therefore comparison is null.

Agreed very much.. and I live in hope that we can spiral and drill down more rather than gallop through to get coverage..but the field and expectations should be the same for all..

It's totally unacceptable that her school is praised for having a narrow curriculum that would get you failed in a different type of school. If the model is good enough why is she so scared of having to teach a full and broad curriculum?

There is so much world wide evidence to consider, opportunities to change, challenge and encourage instead it's back to big sticks and soundbites. D is for disappointing..
