We have published a note on the requirement for countries to use unconditional incentives when inviting potential respondents to take part in our #surveys.

The guidance is for Round 12 (2025/6) and Round 13 (2027/28) participating countries where invitations are being sent by post.

A short article about revising the human values scale has been published by Survey Practice (@aapor.bsky.social 🇺🇸).

The article focuses on testing a new version of the measure developed by the ESS and German Socio-Economic Panel (SOEP 🇩🇪) in collaboration with Shalom Schwartz.

New research published by Quality & Quantity (@springernature.com) assessed the effects of two 11- point answer scales.

The study investigated #data from respondents during Round 8 (2016/17) of our #survey who were randomly assigned scales ranging from 0 to 10 and from − 5 to + 5.

We have published panel survey #data measuring environmental attitudes amongst respondents in Munich 🇩🇪 and Paris 🇫🇷 in 2023 and 2024.

The probability-based online #survey covered #climate and green policies, transport, greenhouse gas emissions, energy, and other environmental behaviours.

#Research that investigated the feasibility of using ChatGPT for cross-cultural #survey translation was recently published.

We have released the specification for countries taking part in Round 13 of our #survey, due to be fielded from September 2027 until May 2028.

Round 13 (2027/28) will be the first round of the ESS where all #data will be collected from respondents using self-completion modes.

A recording of our #webinar on comparing #survey responses in different modes is now available.

The findings indicate that respondents in self-completion modes exhibit more non-differentiation and fewer acquiescent and midpoint responses than in face-to-face modes.
