Tactical voter. I think we should all read On Tyranny and be ready to defend what’s good.
As someone who was younger then but around - no we did not. Other racism of the sort he was still using in his 30s, that stuff was worse, even commonplace. But support for Nazism was a broad taboo and so very extremist and fringe. His willingness to befriend the AfD is a clue as to his current view.
