I've just been contacted by a similar X account this morning. Different username. If you're not on X, then the scammer is still at it, trying to provide 'feedback' to me. Something seemed off. Link to the X account in question: x.com/bue_buehlman

I hope a similar platform springs up, inviting freelance editors and beta readers for writers. Self-editing can only take me so far, I think.

Thanks for sharing the platform. I'll send this to a friend.

I've left out all the chaos...the madness and despair and cries for help...aching hands and blurred vision...but who wants to hear about that?

The typewriter, however, is magic, and it's not for sale.

And thanks! On to the next story.

I watched this with my daughter the other day. I kept saying, "I swear I've read this before!" but couldn't figure it out throughout the entire movie. Found the novella in my copy of "If It Bleeds."

Powerful acting, crazy existential, great movie.

Yeah, anytime! I'm always interested in discussing the craft.

Convincing dialogue is important, I agree. I probably revise my prose the most, attempting to make it engaging but not too purple. Knowing when to cut it down to terse sentences when called for.

Without a doubt. After that 'perfect', first-draft phase passes, I'm certainly better off for it. But everything in moderation--even revision, I think.

I see you're not new to writing. Any eternal revision loops for you?

Well said. The 'insanity' for me is the perpetual state of revising and never letting it rest. That, and attempting to rein in the run-on sentences while maintaining style and voice.

Better than shrugging and nodding all the time.

And hey, they say the mouth is the new window to the soul. Or something like that...
