😭 doesn't "no discourse" mean:
Let's pretend that X doesn't exist yet we're cooler than those in LinkedIn?

Also miss the old ML Twitter, specially during pandemic. The post-pandemic transition was highly affected by VCs taking the baton out of Cryptobros & diverting it onto "AI".
More context now that I’m not annoyed. I think I wanted this site to be old ML twitter too much and tried a bit much to make that happen. I’m just going back to old posting rules: once a day, no discourse, mostly papers
Deleted a post that was going viral and bringing an undesirable amount of attention from anonymous accounts. But, I'm going to be honest, the toxic folks here have won. So much of the usage of the site is about avoiding their attention. I'll just use this site to get book recs going forward

As PhD student I used to hate writing, these days less. But, afair I always like (micro-)blogging. Thus,

I decided to serve as reviewer for @iclr-conf.bsky.social Blog post Track 😊. Any advice, beyond what chairs have shared, for a rookie blog reviewer?

Noble idea, consider participating!

Did smth at smaller scale during pandemic, then gave up as I got sick with bureaucracy of PAMI-TC & ECVA 🤢, governing bodies behind: CVPR, ICCV, ECCV. Decided that it's better to drive change by setting up strong foundations for LxCV's PC, the CV chapter of LXAI.
I'm working on a piece about peer review and conference publication in AI/ML/NLP/CV, and I need YOUR help to understand how the community uses conferences and peer review in paper discovery.

Your four short multiple choice answers will help a lot :)

Btw if ppl are reluctant to travel to the 🇺🇸 yet wanna gather to discuss CVPR papers, I strongly encourage to get in touch with Voxel51 (@jasoncorso.bsky.social & Co).

They've been running online zoom events (posted also in Yt) as: "The best of "
Indeed! My two cents/Qs:

1. Why are we even talking about an EurCVPR with @eccv.bsky.social around the corner?

Moreover,

2. AFAIU BVMC was struggling to find organizers few years ago. @bmvcconf.bsky.social Have you even checked their calls?

Hot take: “someone is the average of 5 people” gets used as networking (optimizing growth) advice.
Backman’s “7 humans” hit different: it’s less about leverage, more about loyalty + attention.

LLMs are here. The choice isn’t ‘allow vs ban

It’s ‘transparent & governed vs underground & chaotic.’ Also: conferences can’t keep scaling while running on volunteer (reviewers & authors) burnout.
Announcing the ICML 2026 policy for LLMs in reviewing! Reviewers and authors both pick either conservative or permissive LLM use, and will be matched accordingly. Importantly: authors on papers who choose conservative must obey the conservative policy as reviewers.
