Germany haven't said anything about withdrawing, and Austrian politicians have made a lot of noise about doing so, but ultimately it will be up to ORF, and I doubt they actually will as I'm not sure they'd be up to paying the €40m fine. But either way, it will get ugly.

Level heads need to prevail. We certainly don't need some of the inflammatory reactions coming from various people. Including from the White House. The BBC is "100% fake news" is, well, fake news. And I doubt Trump has suffered financial and reputational harm, not least to the tune of $1B.

Other than it being a desperate attempt to prevent KAN fron being killed off, I cannot see any logical reason why else.

However, the only thing that could change that is the threat of around half-a-dozen countries walking out. Particularly with 🇳🇱🇪🇸 in the mix, that's a big black hole in the budget, and not so great PR. Will the EBU really stomach that just for the same of keeping 🇮🇱 in?

BBC never seem to select songs that are already pre-released, so if they were picked they'd have to probably write something new.
