Real world harm is caused by inaction when you watch others be hurt and do nothing. Also, in terms of this story, there's nothing saying Pentious is "mentally ill" and wasn't able to take action. He ADMITS he was a coward. That logic doesn't stand here.

He didn't do anything when action could have been taken. That means it wasn't the "right" action. Though of course, him being redeemed first makes sense if his sin is "less bad" than other types that can be committed.

I think in Charlie's case, it IS a very naive and privileged take. She's genuinely good at heart. However, overall it is NOT a bad take if the people in question truly want to change.

Additionally, this implies you believe in the death penalty. I don't.

I'm on Charlie's side. I think even the most awful people can be redeemed. Redemption doesn't equal forgiveness. Forgiveness isn't a qualification for redemption or becoming a better person.

But regardless of what the character might want, narratively it sort of goes against what Charlie is trying to so. Hell has been shown to already have a "law enforcement" system in place. Alastor wouldn't add anything onto it, and Lucifer assigning this to Alastor is a spit in the face to Charlie.

And sure. He enjoys killing but he... already can do that all on his own, lol. He's already an Overlord. Would having a title from Lucifer make him MORE than a sinner? That might be the only way I can see it being appealing for him.

IDK, it rubs me the wrong way. I can see why on a surface level, it sounds romantic, but there's a lot wrong with the concept. Like, I don't enjoy the idea of Alastor taking down the marginalized FOR someone else. He's always done things his own way.

Would have loved to have seen this! Mini-episodes would be so fun to see... and... Vees Spin-Off, please...???

I love the limitation, the reasoning makes sense. Lucifer disliking Sinners since he ended up in Hell probably because he believed in the goodness of humans, & then being unable to do anything to the "bad" ones, is great. Vox had an awesome moment there and I think it made people take him seriously.
