I think we've been biased (and still are) as an industry as a whole by the FOSS. The tech industry produces billions of dollars of value on the back of benevoles maintainers, often without even aknowledging them. There are no other industry that does that on this scale.

Late to the party but, I actually tried to help visualize the issue, and explain it with simple words: 2038.wtf

The "advice" offered by manfluencers couldn't be better-designed to keep young men sexless and lonely. I'd argue that is the goal. Happy men don't hand over their paychecks to "pick-up artists." They need to keep them lonely, to keep selling them the fake "solutions."
