I think this should get more media attention, but it won't. People are just going to find out the hard way.

The fight has come to NC, and it just hit close to home. Our daughter teaches in Durham public schools and she said almost all of the Latinx kids are not in school today. ICE is targeting everyone who "looks Hispanic", citizen or not. I am even more angry today-kids need to go to school!

My quote of the day

The essence of optimism is that it takes no account of the present, but it is a source of inspiration, of vitality and hope where others have resigned; it enables a man to hold his head high, to claim the future for himself and not to abandon it to his enemy

If your state hasn't done this yet, call your governor's office as well as top public health official in your state, and request that they do this. If enough people start calling, they will hear us loud and clear!
New Mexico has issued a public health order that removes federal restrictions to COVID-19 vaccine access so that pharmacies in New Mexico can vaccinate people of all ages and risk profiles. Every state need to do this!

Important.
#NIH is hanging by a thread. The #CDC has been decimated. #RFK Jr. and Russell #Vought are psychopaths--I don't say this frivolously--they are cold, calculating, inflicting violence on millions through public policy. It is where we are right now. These men are not normal. 1/

And if you're wondering, "wait...I thought last week's Big Bill already codified these science funding cuts?"

Nope! Those are completely separate processes. FY26 appropriations process is still early stages in Congress.

Here's the best explainer I've seen so far on that:
Reconciliation vs Appropriations | American Astronomical Society
Here we outline the key difference between the reconciliation process, which deals with mandatory spending and taxes, and the appropriations process, which determines the funding levels for discretion...
