Professor. PI of the ERC-funded @stemma.bsky.social project. Basketball superfan/player/coach and sometime softball shortshop. "Mad for the books."
And proofs of my second, where I inadvertently introduced an error because of my inability to make a cursive majuscule “S” properly.

It stings, for sure. Take some time (four years and two intercontinental moves for me!), but keep those feedback reports. There’s good advice in there. It might not be a “no” so much as a “not right now.”

Yet another song I've realized* has been ruined by one TV performance 😂

* Noticed while making my own "enthusiastic drum sounds" over Bing Crosby at my desk at home

It's in the Catalogue of English Literary Manuscripts, so it's been findable at least as long as CELM has been online. (The printed Index is in my office, so I'm not sure if it's there too.) I only noticed it today because we're opening all of the manuscript-level records in our db right now. 1/

The earliest jointly-appointed professor of English and (Computer and) Information Science, to my knowledge, was Sally Sedelow at UNC-Chapel Hill. It was 1966.

Points go to @mm-jj-nn.bsky.social for the closest guess.
Guess also: who was the first professor jointly appointed in English and Information Science, and what year (or decade) was it?
