An amazing discussion on how we can use Sr isotopes as a tracer of human migration emerged from this work, see the following as one point on the timeline of these sometimes counteracting sometimes reaffirming studies. www.sciencedirect.com/science/arti...

If this goes through I’m pretty sure President Frontotemporal Dementia wants above-ground testing to see the big boom.

In a way? I’m not sure to what extent the threads of his work carry through, but in terms of our modern taxonomic system minerals it required further advancement in optics, chemistry and crystallography.

Ah, in that case if we’re just looking at mineral systems, then mineral classification schemes used today emerged around the mid 19th century.

Take the U.S. soil classification system (via USDA-NRCS), they describe their process for evaluating and revising/updating their classification system based on advances in soil science and publish a revised edition about every few years or so.

Why does the when matter on this case? A classification system, be it for biology, chemistry, geology, soil science, etc. is, in part, a summation of what is known about that field. The “when” or origin of the classification system would only point to what was known about that field at that time.
