My long-held viewpoint is that that was almost entirely the result of overuse - 3,346 minutes between MLS/CCC/LC! You could see the breakdown coming a mile away. That’s partially on Wilf, and partially on Bez/Tall not finding a suitable replacement to take minutes (which Tall still has not done).

I think the argument is twofold:

1) AI datacenter growth is expected to be dramatic in the next 5-10 years, with projections ranging from 3x to 30x.

2) Most of those other emissions sources come with some justified value - heat, food, etc. AI pictures of shrek are all cost, zero value.

It’s nice to have plans around the holidays

I literally remember two movie experiences from my childhood:
- the Star Wars re-release with my dad in 1997, also at Lennox (place was BUZZIN)
- Mystery Men (because I saw it like 5 times in theaters)

Like, the whole scene is a 90-second slowdown before the frenetic pace of the finale. Bold enough in a “kids” movie.

But an unbroken 10-second shot of a 9yo in honest contemplation? It’s kind of crazy.
