Farmers have a hard enough job feeding the world and supporting the economies of our rural states. This administration’s lack of consideration regarding the way tariffs and trade wars have impacted farmers as a whole, is reprehensible. And republicans in Congress have done nothing to stop it.

What Don Stenberg fails to mention in this editorial is that these ‘scholarships’ will likely divert federal money available for Title I, which supports schools serving low-income communities, or IDEA, which funds special education services.

It’s not compromise, it’s betrayal.
