Bout to test the tensile strength of my U-Lock.

I'll be angry when it actually happens but I'm confident I can fully crack it open on one of these

*I am not sure I'm using the word "tensile" correctly

This story should be expanded into a sequel to A SERIOUS MAN set in the 1990s

My sweetie put me on a family plan on Tidal.

Of my ≈2000 "liked songs" on Spotify, fewer than 20 failed to transfer over (≈ .01%).

The bulk of those came from two local* bands I used to see in my teens and 20s. Both had their music on Bandcamp. 🤘

*well one from Chicago and one from Madison

In Chicago we have a Christkindle (German/Christmas-themed) Market downtown and with subzero temps people stuff themselves in, pounding the hell out of overpriced boozy hot ciders, hot toddies, and hot cocoas, plus steins of (regular-temperatured) beers

I don't know about everywhere but I do not think that's true in the midwest

(at least the parts I'm familiar with— especially the region between Chicago and Milwaukee where our local Faire is)

Jealous here in Illinois!

I presume it lines up with the start and end of the school year. I know a lot of my friends worked the local Faire in college but I'm certain there's enough adult theater kids and nerds to sustain it.

And if pumpkin patches and corn mazes are thriving through October then the weather's good enough

Listened to this for the first time.
BLUE RONDO À LA TURK - CHEWING THE FAT (1982)

UK take on Latin Jazz with occasional post-punk overtones.
