My favourite thing I heard of like this is a debugging feature in Alien Isolation where instead of hissing the Alien states aloud what it's thinking about.

"I heard you. I am hunting you. I am hunting you. I am hunting you. I have found you."

The genre lends itself nicely to game where you can just throw together a match with privateers, pirates and the like. Like, let’s see who’s around, maybe do some light balancing through crew mechanics or teams, and you’re ready to go.

Just show up with a ship, boom, game.

My ideal version is lots of players, each field just one or two ships. That way the models could be pretty hefty, prime material for custom stuff.

I regularly lust for one of these. Never knew they had one!

But just imagine… Excuse me while I out myself as an btek pervert, but I imagine something with only a handful models per player, interesting, varying penalties for acceuing damage, movement and positioning being king. Wind. Hnnngh.

I played through it just last year and it’s absolutely wild how good the gameplay still feels today.

writing an important and tense point of character decision making into the game only to have people dismiss the empathetic option as pointless, thereby completely affirming the entire point of this decision being in the game.
