I agree in part. But IMHO a large share of the parent/child misalignment stems from what various parenting situations where neighborly parents come up with opposite solutions for their kids - both - “doing what’s best.” This can create a terrible, permanent, and unnerving cognitive dissonance.

If you are just trying to guess correct - separate from feeling about your guess - looks like “yes” is a good bet “for now”
