The v2.1.1 fixes the situation where your custom text wasn't showing up on your post, and knowing you're on WP.com tells me what I should be investigating. Stay tuned!

Would you be able to run it with WP_DEBUG enabled and set the log level high, to see where the error is happening? I'm also working on a hotfix for publishing without clicking into the meta box.

The code is merged into the main branch that fixes the missing image issue. We'll tag it as 2.1.0. I'll try to get it finished by Monday night.
