אפשר רק להעיר שמאוד מאוד קשה לעסוק במחשבה מורכבת וניואנסית אחרי ה-7 באוקטובר.

The main message is that our students are being hired into roles that require interdisciplinarity capabilities right from the start. We teach more Machine Learning and statistics than anyone else on campus, and our students train models themselves: the best way to engage with the world of AI.

Our findings suggest that algorithmic bias has become a malleable cultural object, perhaps too malleable. It allows the concept to serve as a tool of ethical accountability, but also makes it vulnerable to ideological inversion.

Using a mixed-method approach, combining thematic analysis of high-engagement posts with digital ethnography, we examined how the discourse around algorithmic bias was taken up, amplified, and reframed across ideological lines. >>

Looking ahead, we’re eager to keep growing and advancing (come give a job talk!). The leadership now passes to the capable and energetic hands of Prof. Neta Rabin.

I began this role on October 8, 2023. It feels right to finish at a moment when we can finally breathe and hope for better times.

We hired three new faculty members, established several new labs (including a major investment in the GPU teaching lab), saw higher admission thresholds and growing enrollment across all our programs (in Industrial Engineering & Management, Data Science, and graduate studies). >>
